Personal Statement
I am Theodora Coleman, a final year student of Radford University College studying Advanced Photography.
The main purpose of taking photographs is to capture life moments, to make those moments last,to be able to remember them and to share with others. Photography is a process. Every step involves decision making about the placement of objects, appropriate settings and the right light and color setting.
As a graphic designer I manipulate photos to communicate an idea so I want to build my photography skills which can lead to a better design, improve my composition skills and how elements relate in an image. Photography will help me understand the impact of light and color, and the importance of texture. Also some employers look for graphic designers with a photography background.
After my study of Advanced Photography, I would love to become a master of reaching my audience through emotions and feelings by capturing or freezing time to share the moment with them by telling their story. Another benefit is to produce original images to create custom logo designs instead of relying on the internet for stock images.
I pledge to take this course seriously, be punctual to class, participate in all class projects, open to criticism and be dedicated to this course.
